Best place to snorkel with this kind of accessibility. Easy parking, we found 3 spots along the street to choose from on a busy Friday afternoon. Walk across the street and right into the water. Public restrooms and wash station right across the road from the beach. Not really a good beach for lounging. At high tide there's really only a few feet of beach left. Really rocky entry but not too sharp.
Nice and sheltered from the wind. Best place yet to snorkle and great for families. Highly recommended.
Small beach, that is a little difficult to get in and out of. But great snorkeling. Lots of fishwith fun under water features and variety. Swam with the sea turtle.
Great place to go snorkeling. Lots of fishes. Easy parking.
Lawa'i Beach is small in size but it's the gateway to great snorkeling and boogie boarding. When the trade winds increase the long boards come out. Be prepared to take unforgettable photos above and below the water. Sunsets can be spectacular! Lawa'i is adjacent to the Beach House Restaurant that has lush green grass that extends down to a shoreline access sidewalk. The Restaurant graciously invites the public to use that portion near the sidewalk which is ideal for relaxing, people, and maybe seal watching (they often sleep on the sand here). There are restrooms at Lawa'i Beach, but because of it's size, they are located across the road. No lifeguard here. Do not visit Kauai without stopping here. It's also on your way to Spouting Horn.
