If you are looking for a very nice, reasonably priced home-away-from-home for a Kauai vacation, Pua Hale is an excellent option. Located in a residential section of Poipu, away from the intense hotel scene, Pua Hale is a lovely stand-alone one bedroom house with privacy walls and tropical gardens. Yes, there are geckos and that is part of the enjoyment of island life. Their job is to eat bugs and sing to you.
The beach is nearby as is the beautiful National Tropical Botanical Garden. Restaurants are also nearby, but Pua Hale has a beautifully equipped kitchen if you want to cook your own meals 'at home'. Carol Ann is a gracious hostess and we thoroughly enjoyed our week there.
As of now, I have been to Hawai'i and Kaua'i 4 times. I have stayed here 3 of those visits. All in early May. I never needed the air conditioner. The neighborhood is very quiet. You are very close to one of the most commended beaches on the planet and pictures accurately show the property except for the hospitality of the owner who has gone out of her way to help me on more than one occasion!
