Food pretty good, glad we came. I ordered the veal piccata and it was fresh, so was the pasta and the side of greens. They kindly accommodated my request for no onions or garlic. They might also have imagined I wanted less other seasonings, because it was a bit bland and I chose to add salt and pepper myself. I cleared the plate.
Great restaurant with true Italian cuisine. The staff were friendly and experienced. Great ambiance inside the restaurant makes you forget you are in the middle of the Pacific and not in Italy. If you're looking for a change from the normal cuisine on the island give this gem a go.
Lovely environment, lovely ambiance. Mike was our server (but seemed like he could have been, possibly, the owner) who knew the menu, made excellent and thoughtful recommendations, was the perfect balance of present and absent during the meal, and was not only aware of and kind to his guests, but even seemed to be true friends with them. Not only to those that seemed to be locals or regulars, but also those, like myself, who are probably just passing through.
The fresh squeezed orange juice is, literally, fresh squeezed, right there. The food is delicious. We got the brie french toast and the banana pancakes. If you like brie, definitely go for the French toast, you will not be disappointed. The pancakes were great. Quantities are generous. Incredible meal for an affordable price. I might try to make my way back to try the eggs Benedict.
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The banana pancakes were fantastic. Fluffy and delicious, with sweet bananas on top (caution: hot!). Hollandaise sauce on the Benedict had too much lemon juice and was somewhat sour, but otherwise good. Poached eggs were done just right, and the bacon was appropriately crisp. House fries were, perhaps, a bit undercooked.
The salmon ravioli was similarly good. The wait staff works hard, is constantly on the run. Which lends the place a sense of breathless energy. Add a star if you like it LOUD, 'cuz that it is!
This place was awesome. A small, family-run restaurant putting out awesome dishes. Pasta was incredible, with such flavorful sauces. And the panna cotta was outstanding. Who would have thought a little Italian joint on Kauai would be so great!
