However, I was more disgusted by the Bartender; he was continuously talking about women about their looks and body parts; I do not find that to be considered appropriate conversation for an eating establishments employees. I asked for my tab and left.
I had high hopes for this place. Figured I'd give them a shot as I love Thai food.
We enjoyed our meal here in the Poipu Shopping Village. We wanted a low key place that was close to our hotel and this restaurant fit the bill. I had the poke bowl and my vegetarian husband had the yam and avocado roll. We were both pleased with our selections. The service was fast and the waitress even wrote down the name and address of a store I asked about.
When I got my bill, out was almost $37! That means, minus the taxes and the $29 for food, my tiny, watery Thai iced tea was nearly $7!
The wait staff was very polite and helpful. I was excited to order the Tom Yum soup. When it arrived I was quite unhappy about it, the flavors were no where near what a lemongrass ginger type Thai soup should taste like, I was bummed.
Both the curry bowl and the side of rice were tiny portions for $18.
I will not return and will not recommend this place to anyone. I don't spend my money with businesses that treat women like objects.
The Thai iced tea came in one of those small, clear, plastic water cups you'd use at a hotel while filling up water in the lobby. The tea was weak/watery (not because of the ice as I started drinking it right away). I figured that would've been maybe $3 as most Thai places.
This place better check themselves.
Great dinner, delicious and fast...ordered takeout and was done on 10. So much better than some of the other options on poipu and not terribly expensive. Stayed a week in poipu...one of the better culinary experiences
I went for happy hour, there was maybe 10 people in the place with 2 of them at the bar. I waited and waited for about 10 minutes, no one came to seat me so I walked in further thinking maybe they didn't see me. Still nothing, finally I sat myself and waited.
The crab won tons barely tasted like crab. No visible cream in the filling..... $11
Great staff and food! We found this restaurant from a friend who recommended it. My family and I are vegan and we found the 'Vegan Lover' menu very helpful. We are staying at the Marriott and were disappointed with their vegan choices (they had none) which is why We started looking for other places to eat. So far we've found here and a Mexican place across from our hotel. We are definitely coming back over our stay in Kauai!
Ordered the Crab Langoons for an appetizer, Green Curry "bowl", and a Thai iced tea.
The green curry was horrible. Too watery, barely any taste, and even though I ordered "American mild" (not Thai mild as that's more medium spice), it came pretty spicy. The rice was soft and almost mushy. Definitely not Jasmine rice.
