Relaxed casual atmosphere, koi fish pond, fast service. Delicious food. Came here as the last nice dinner on island.
I'm not going to enjoy bashing this place because everyone was so nice, but the two vegetarian options are just bad. (But, still, thanks for having vegetarian options!)
I got the tofu. It did the job, it was food, I got full, but it was bad. Tasted like bad catered wedding food. (My wife got fish, and she didn't love it either.)
Crab cakes were best I've ever had. I had the aged ribeye and scallops. The temp on my steak was too much but the meat had a unique game taste probably because it's all grass fed. My scallops we're huge and cooked perfectly. The broccoli was too salty and potatoes were uninspired. Overall the main seafood and steak were great. Cocktails and wine are fine but very overpriced.
I think it's time this place revisits its vegetarian options.
Incredible venue. Average food. Scallops were pretty bland. Salad uninspired and Ceviche average (fresh though). Drinks were also basic. The dining experience was certainly not consistent with the venue. I would suggest the exec/ Souls chef drive flavour more and the bar management modernize. Catering dept is behind for sure.
So there is forbidden rice and crispy tofu. Two servers separately told us not to get the forbidden rice. So right off the bat, they have something on the menu that the servers know is bad. That shows it's just a token offering and that they don't really care.
If you're looking for an overpriced and overcooked seafood dinner, with great ambiance... Tidepools is the place for you! The location is gorgeous and if you're staying at the Hyatt (like we were) it's so convenient. The problem is the fish entrees run $50+ and are horribly overcooked and bland. We had the Hawaiian catch and the snapper special, both so overdone and disappointing. Wine is also way overpriced and cocktail list leaves much to be desired. A+ for ambiance but the food is a flop.
